Pure Prairie Organics can provide a 100% Organic/Natural Lawn Care Program, Organic Tree or Shrub Care Progrm or we can offer an Organic Based  Blended Program which combines the Organic/Natural fertilizers with some quality slow release fertilizers, broadleaf weed control and crabgrass control.  Grub control can be added as an optional treatment.  It really depends on which method you want used in your lawn.  The 100% Organic Program is wonderful and will give you a beautiful healty lawn but the weeds would not be easily controled.  The Organic Based  Blended Program would give you the best of both worlds. Many customers start with our Organic Based Blended Program and after a year they then consider the 100% Organic/Natural Program.

Either of these progams can be done up to 6 times per season.  We offer an early spring visit, a late spring visit, an early summer visit, a late summer visit, an early fall visit and a late fall visit (our winterizer).  If you would like to start having your lawn cared for by professionals that care about you, your family and the environment please contact us today!

We also offer Core Aeration.  This is a wonder way to loosen up compacted soil, allow your soil to breath easily and create many passageways for water and nutrients to travel down to your root system.  Some of our customers have us apply a heavy amount of Gypsum (40 lbs/1,000 sq ft) or others have us overseed with a quality blend of grass seed to give new life to their lawn.  The Gypsum will travel into the holes directly or by water and it will soften up the hard clay that is usually close to the lawn surface.  We pick a grass seed blend that suites your lawn depending on if it is located in full sun, sun and shade or full shade.  Each year there are new varieties of grass seed and introducing a new one will make your lawn look beautiful again. Core Aeration can be done in the spring or fall.  If you have an underground sprinkler system or an "invisible fence" for pets please let us know.  Some areas need to be marked with flags so that our machines do not break or cut anything underground that we can not see.

We offer Tree and Shrub Care so that your landscape does not get neglected and looks it's best.  We have quality 100% Organic/Natural Tree and Shrub Care products that either get injected into the ground or sprayed directly onto the leaves of the trees or shrubs, depending on the season.  Our products are superior and they not only improve the health of the trees or shrubs but we also focus on improving the soil around them so they continue to grow properly inbetween our visits.  We can take care of your trees and shrubs in the spring, summer and fall.

Pure Prairie Organics can offer you insect control as well.  There are two main insects that we deal with in regards to lawn in this area, grubs and sod webworms

Grubs are a larger issue most years because they feed on and around the root system which cuts off the ability to take up water and the lawn starts to die.  This usually happens in the fall so we like to prevent this by applying an grub control.  This should be done by ealy July so that the product can get into the ground before the adult beetles lay their eggs.  If this application is missed there is another chance we have later in the fall after the eggs have hatched but we can risk some damage to the lawn if it's not caught in time.  A preventative application can focus on only the grubs too instead of a broad kill of insects that is a result of the fall application. Sod webworms can do damage during the growing season, their larva or babies snip off grass blades and carry them down into the thatchy area to feed on it.  It repeats this process snipping and eating, snipping and eating creating a thin lawn or scalped look to the lawn.  If the lawn is healthy enough it may repair itself simply by regrowing new grass blades but if a lawn is not taken care of properly or does not get enough water the regrowth does not happen and we see damage.
